Biography of Dr Edward Francis RimbaultRimbault, Dr Edward Francis. Ph.D. (Stockholm, 1842), Hon.LL.D. (Harvard, 1848). Pupil of his father and Samuel Wesley. Organist of the Swiss Church, Soho, 1832. A founder of the Musical Antiquarian Society, 1840. Composed an operetta, songs, &c. Joint author with Dr Edward John Hopkins of “The Organ: its History and Construction”, 1855; author of “The early English organ builders and their works from the fifteenth century to the period of the Great Rebellion”, 1865; author of other texts on musical history, &c.
